Diversity and Nursing Science powerhouse, producer and writer, Denetra Hampton is set to bring the science of nursing and global health to screen. She is often superseded by her mantra, "Every nurse has a story, Everyone has a story. Live a life worth telling, and tell a great story.", and whole-heartedly believes the world should bear witness to the incredible stories of nursing.
She is releasing her first documentary, THE BLACK ANGELS in May 2019. It is the untold story of African American nurses who risked their lives to care for patients with tuberculosis, when there was no cure and white nurses refused. She gives homage to the nurses who blazed trails and were instrumental in the cure. The story gives closeup to the life of BLACK ANGEL, MARJORIE REED.
For Nurses By Nurses Productions is committed to bringing awareness to the role of the nurse scientist and helping bridge the gap of health disparities through a lens of diversity, film and story-telling.
