The year 2020 was designated as the Year of the Nurse and Midwife by the World Health Organization, in commemoration of the 200th birthday of Florence Nightingale. Nurses make of the majority of the healthcare workforce and are consistently under recognized for their contributions to medicine.  This film is a cultural narrative that celebrates the profession over the last 200 years and introduces you to the only African American nurse who has received a purple heart.
