1963 is known as the year of civil rights and on August 8, 1963 these three nurses took a seat so that every other nurse of color could stand tall.

The documentary discusses their journey, why they were fired and their civil rights case. The Dixie 3 documentary is a reminder of why affirmative action

is needed and should always be a part of our fight for equality.

“The DIXIE 3” introduces three nurses to film as they make their debut appearances,

Angela Mitchell, RN, portraying Patricia Taylor; T’Wanda Lowery, RN, portraying Agnes Stokes; and Melanie Outlaw,

RN Portraying Mildred Smith.
