The African American Nursing Experience

Community Culture & Allyship

This digital exhibit seeks to highlight the African American nursing experience through a community lens. It presents a vibrant narrative, showcasing how African American women nurtured their families and communities through individual and collective experiences.

Originating from the 1800s, the exhibit offers an impressive array of art, photography, and film, immersing visitors in a seldom-discussed aspect of nursing - the culture.

Additionally, the audience will discover the stories of lesser-known caregivers, each contributing their unique narratives to the broader historical context.
