Leadership Series Outline:
Episode 6: Manipulation
Manipulation -In interpersonal relationships, manipulation may manifest as emotional manipulation, where one individual seeks to exploit the feelings of another to achieve their own goals. This can involve tactics such as guilt-tripping, gaslighting, or playing the victim to gain sympathy. Emotional manipulators often create a power imbalance, making the other person feel responsible for the manipulator's happiness or emotional state. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for individuals to protect themselves and maintain healthy boundaries.
Denetra talks about her own experiences with manipulation.
Episode 7: Self-Awareness & Gaslighting
Being self-aware is essential for breaking free from manipulators. Self-awareness involves understanding one’s own thoughts, feelings, motivations, and behaviors. This deep level of introspection enables individuals to recognize when they are being manipulated and to identify the tactics that manipulators often employ.
Denetra discusses the key skill of clarity in leadership and how it is the kryptonite for bullies.
