Setting A New Standard in Health Science Education: The Inaugural Bench Installation By The Bench Mark For Science Project

The Bench Mark for Science Project has installed its inaugural bench. This project, which seeks to advance the health sciences through the ground breaking work of For Nurses By Nurses Productions called, scientific storytelling, has started by placing a storytelling bench in Lakewood Park, Norfolk, Virginia. In collaboration with the City of Norfolk, Parks and Recreation, the bench pays tribute to Marjorie Tucker Reed, LPN, one of the renowned nurses known as THE BLACK ANGELS, who contributed to the tuberculosis cure in 1951.

The inaugural bench dedication is set to take place on May 17th at 11 AM EST in Lakewood Park, located in Norfolk, Virginia. This significant event marks a special occasion for the local community, as it aims to honor and celebrate the contributions of individuals who have made a positive impact in the area. A key element of the community collaboration.
