The revolution of the midwife is here and rightfully so. Representing an integral part to a strong multi-disciplinary healthcare team, they account for 50% of the global workforce.
Midwives are fundamental to effective and efficient care for a growing Maternal Health crisis.
They work in partnership with the mother and her infant providing assistance with childbirth, counseling, support and prevention assessments. Last year, USAID trained 11,632 frontline health workers, including nurses, midwives, and community health workers in Nepal, to provide nutrition services in 42 districts.
