The World Health Organization designated 2020 as the Year of the Nurse and Midwife. We came together to honor the 200th birthday of Florence Nightingale as well as the contributions of African American nurses to medicine and science. This film is a cultural narrative as we celebrate the first African American nurse to receive the Purple Heart, legendary midwife, Maude Callen and one of the oldest African American nursing sororities of our time, Chi Eta Phi.

It was an honor to interview Former Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius. Her legacy and contribution to healthcare and community health is fitting as we celebrate a year of excellence.
